How do you keep your menu-covers clean?
Spring cleaning. You scrub your patio, wash your outdoor chairs, your tables, and... hopefully your menu-covers too? Read our tips on cleaning coated and metal menu-covers (which, by the way, apply year-round and not just in spring 😉).
Hygiene in hospitality
Hygiene in hospitality. It's a nice alliteration, but it's also deadly serious. In addition to your crockery and glassware, you hopefully also keep your menu-covers clean and fresh, so that guests feel like ordering something. Greasy fingers and dirty stains detract from your menu presentation, but you have better things to do than endless cleaning. That's why you want menu-covers that are easy to keep clean.
decover's menu-covers - with proper use - last for years and are refreshed in an instant. A coated menu-cover is inherently scratch-resistant and resistant to greasy fingers. A metal menu-cover is slightly more sensitive to this, but that is offset by a sturdy appearance. Both cards are easy to clean.
Cleaning coated menu-covers
In theory, coated menu-covers can be put in the dishwasher on a gentle (glass) rinse program without detergent, but machine cleaning is not our preference. The use of dishwasher tablets, dishwashing detergent or other cleaning agents with lemon (acid) can dry out the hinges. This shortens the lifespan of the menu-covers. With normal use, such an extensive cleaning is not necessary at all.
Use a lint-free cloth and dampen it lightly with lukewarm water. Clean the menu-covers by hand, dry them with a tea towel and let them dry in a (draining) rack. Do not stack them directly on top of each other.
Cleaning metal menu-covers
Cleaning metal menu-covers is not much different from coated menu-covers. These menu-covers can also be easily cleaned with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. If they are very greasy, you can spray a very little Glassex on a dry cloth and wipe them with it. In practice, however, this is usually not necessary.
In short, if you want to enjoy your menu-cover for years, make sure you regularly wipe them down easily and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
